The original “Magnet” Cinema in the centre of Cavan had long ceased to be used for its original purpose and had been converted into commercial offices.

GCA were commissioned to examine how to refurbish the existing building in order to maximise its floor plate, extend its useful life and upgrade the standard of accommodation, services, and thermal performance.

The scheme involved the renewal of the existing structure and the re-cladding of the building into a highly insulated stone and fibre cement skin and associated new doors, screens and glazing.
