Ballymun Regeneration Sillogue/Sandyhill Housing 2A

Client - Ballymun Regeneration Limited

The intention of the scheme is to create a new secure residential square in the centre of the site and provide new buildings along the perimeter. This is achieved through maintaining a traffic calmed and pedestrian priority route leading to the landscaped central space. It is hoped that the provision of this communal area will foster the creation of a new neighbourhood. In response to consultation a wide variety of dwellings is proposed. The scale of the dwellings respond to different site conditions - three storey to the major Sandyhill Avenue with a mix of one storey, two and three storey to the traffic calmed route and landscaped central space. The visual variety is furthered by the use of materials - a variety of bricks forming blocks of colour inset with panels of timber cladding and render. They vary between two and three bedroom apartments - for three to five people. All apartments have a shared private garden. There are single, two and three storey houses which are suitable for between three and eight people. All dwellings have front parking and gardens with secure private open space to the rear.
